Kim is a horse trainer and instructor who has been giving full-time lessons and training over one year. Kim graduated from Ellsworth Community College in 2012 with a degree in Equine Management. She has over ten years experience working with horses.
Kim specializes in beginner lessons, teaching the important basics of a strong foundation for a rider to build upon. The student starts with bareback riding so they learn the importance of balance. Once they've mastered balance, they then begin saddle riding. They learn how to put the saddle on the horse properly and how to un-tack the horse and groom it. Additionally, Kim can start students in the basics of English riding. This enables them to advance into the English discipline with ease and minimal fear.
Kim starts horse training with ground work. She teaches the horse to obey personal space, lungeing, and desensitizing (sacking out). She also trains them to ride the basics; go forward, walk, trot, lope, back up, and stop. Training advancement depends on how quick the horse learns and the length of it's training period.
