Mallory Huggins is a young professional with a focus in English riding styles. She is passionate about helping every rider achieve their goals – whether that’s gaining confidence on the trails, learning how to jump, or competing at the top levels of their sport. With her experience training OTTBs and starting horses under saddle, she produces safe horses with good “rideability” in any discipline.

She started taking riding lessons when she was 8, and soon began leasing a horse. She spent her teenage years showing in 4H, open shows, and trail riding. When she moved to Ames to attend Iowa State University, Mallory bought a young thoroughbred and started her eventing career.

She spent a summer as a working student for FEI dressage trainer Missy Fladland. At Missy’s La Riata Ranch, she not only developed her dressage education, but also learned groundwork from Missy and her husband Kip Fladland; who worked with Buck Brannaman.

After graduating from ISU, Mallory returned to working at La Riata Ranch before accepting a position as a working student for 5* eventer and USDF silver medalist Ellen Hume. While working for Ellen at her farm in Texas, Mallory helped care for 50+ horses, worked with OTTBs, and taught in a large lesson program which spanned all ages and experience levels.

Since moving back to the Midwest, Mallory has continued to advance her riding education; riding frequently with 1988 US Olympic Eventing alternate John Staples and participating in various other clinics in the area. She is excited to start her new adventure at Pine Hollow Stables and will be available for riding lessons, horse training, and coaching.
